G is for Genre

I love this movie <3

Yey for genres! Without them we would not have fiction books. Well, we would, but we might feel rather bored with the books.

I’m a genre writer. I write mainly romance, but I think I’m going to be bleeding over into YA as well. I’ve been reading a lot of YA lately, cause I love it. I can’t help it. It’s just grabs my attention more so than more adult books. I like and read adult fiction, but come on! It’s YA!

What genres do you like to read and/or write?

And I am now caught up! Until tomorrow!

Laters!

  1. YA is great because you don't have to read about the characters' boring jobs and even more boring responsibilities :P i.e. MUST PAY MY PHONE BILL.

  2. I like to write in the science fiction, fantasy, and horror genres. It makes sense that you might be writing YA since that is a genre you love to read. As the saying goes, write what you love.Happy to meet you from the A-Z Challenge!

  3. Right now I wander from fantasy to dark fantasy [from unicorns to vampires, essentially] to travel stories. I like to read a variety of books as well: Madeline L'engle (A Wrinkle In Time), C. S. Lewis (Narnia), J.K. Rowling (Harry Potter) and Michael Ende (The Neverending Story) are some of my favorite YA writers. In adult writers, I enjoy Anne Rice (Interview With A Vampire), Stephen King, and most recently, Jim Butcher (The Dresden Files). Are you on SheWrites.com?

  4. Good luck in your writing endeavors. Gangster, mystery, science fiction, and the classics are my favorite genres of books (or a really strong autobiography). That covers a lot, huh, lol.And the gangster genre is also my favorite film genre.Nice blog!
